Justin was diagnosed with multiple different kinds of cancer, including brain and kidney. His treatments took place in Bethesda, MD at the National Institutes of Health. The Kyle Charvat Foundation provided funding for Justin to travel to and from home and Bethesda for treatments.

Also during this time, Justin’s car broke down, rendering him immobile to travel and unable to drive his family to their doctor’s appointments. The Kyle Charvat Foundation also provided funding for Justin’s car to be fixed.
