As I look down, even now, at the message on the bracelet, "A Helping Hand", and Kyle's initials, KC'05, as I have done so many times over the past year or so, it is a constant reminder for me to strive to "lend a helping hand to all who seek it" and to live each day to its fullest because you never know when it will be your last.

The Kyle Charvat Foundation submitted an application for retroactive reinstatement of its tax-exempt status as a public charity with the Internal Revenue Service on August 24, 2011.  It could take several months from the date the Kyle Charvat Foundation's application was submitted to receive a determination from the Internal Revenue Service as to whether or not the Kyle Charvat Foundation qualifies as a public charity and is granted retroactive reinstatement. The Kyle Charvat Foundation cannot speculate as to whether contributions made by donors to the Kyle Charvat Foundation will be tax-deductible or that the Kyle Charvat Foundation will be successful in obtaining public charity status at this time.
